The challenge
A government mining company operates large dumper fleets on HSD (high-speed diesel) at its opencast mines in Telangana. It wanted a certified answer on fuel savings across different dumper sizes, not a single test machine.

The method
Five dumper groups at two opencast mines, BEML 35-tonne and 60-tonne and Komatsu 100-tonne dumpers, ran on DeCarb Diesel Plus, tested under its earlier name, Diesel Plus Gold, between 2016 and 2018. The company measured HSD consumption against its own records.

The results
The company certified reductions in HSD consumption of 10.79% to 12.99% across the five dumper groups, in a letter dated 3 July 2018.
