01
The challenge
A state transport corporation measures every bus by kilometres per litre against its depot average. Diesel is its largest controllable cost per kilometre, and any saving has to show up in that depot number.
02
The method
Five buses ran on DeCarb Diesel Plus, tested under its earlier name, Diesel Plus Gold, over October and November, covering 42,412 km between them. Their mileage was compared with the depot average for the same period.
03
The results
The five trial buses averaged 5.80 km/L against a depot average of 5.40 km/L: 7.4% more kilometres from every litre.
Bars start at zero, so a difference is never drawn larger than it is.
